Your Role
As a
Road Maintenance Officer
, you'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for keeping local roads, footpaths and public infrastructure
safe, functional and well maintained.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and repairing roads, footpaths, kerb and channel, drainage systems and other Council assets
Carrying out minor concreting, asphalt patching and bluestone repairs
Operating civil plant and equipment, including excavators, skid steers, rollers and compactors
Driving
MR trucks
to transport materials, machinery and equipment between worksites
Responding to road defects and maintenance requests
Installing and maintaining traffic management equipment and signage




Completing pre-start inspections and basic vehicle and equipment maintenance
Following safe work practices, completing work orders and reporting hazards
Working collaboratively with the Road Maintenance team to deliver quality results for the community
About You
We're looking for someone who is
hands-on, safety-focused and takes pride in delivering quality work.
To be successful, you will have:
Current MR (Medium Rigid) Truck Licence - Required
VicRoads 5-year demerit point history - Required
Current Working With Children Check - Required
Current Police Check - Required
Experience in road maintenance, civil construction or infrastructure maintenance
Experience operating civil plant and machinery
Knowledge of asphalt, concrete, drainage and/or road repair works
Construction White Card
Solid commitment to workplace health and safety
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Highly Regarded
The following qualifications and experience will also be viewed favourably:
Traffic Management qualifications (Stop/Slow, Implement Traffic Management Plan or equivalent)
First Aid Certificate
HR Licence
Confined Space Ticket
Additional civil construction tickets
Hours & Pay
Monday to Friday
Generally
7:00am - 3:00pm
, with some variation depending on operational requirements.
