THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity exists for a Product Developer to join a growing womenswear team and take ownership of selected product categories from concept through to production.
This position is ideal for an experienced Product Developer looking to step up, or an established Product Developer seeking broader responsibility and exposure across the full product lifecycle.
You will play a key role in managing product development activities, coordinating offshore suppliers, driving fit and construction outcomes, and ensuring products are delivered on time, on brief and to commercial objectives.
Working within a fast-paced environment, you'll support both core range development and shorter lead-time product initiatives, requiring strong organisation, adaptability and attention to detail.
Day-to-Day
Manage end-to-end product development across assigned womenswear categories
Create and maintain technical packs, specifications, bill of materials and development documentation
Coordinate product development from initial concept through sampling, fittings and production handover
Lead fit sessions and communicate technical feedback to suppliers
Monitor sample progress, approvals and critical path timelines
Work closely with design, production, planning and merchandising teams to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets
Liaise with offshore suppliers to resolve technical and production challenges
Review fabrics, trims, construction methods and finishes to ensure products meet brand and quality expectations
Maintain accurate development tracking and reporting systems
Support ongoing improvements across product development processes and standards
Experience Required
Minimum 3 years' experience within apparel product development, garment technology, production or a related discipline
Previous exposure to womenswear product development strongly preferred
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit and technical specifications
Experience preparing technical documentation and managing product development workflows
Ability to manage multiple developments simultaneously while working to critical deadlines
Experience communicating with offshore suppliers and manufacturers
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator or similar product development tools
Positive, collaborative approach with excellent communication skills

Salary
$90,000 - $100,000 + Superannuation (potential for more for exceptional candidates meeting the brief)
