Position Information
Kempsey High School (KHS) is built on the lands of the Dunghutti people and has an enrolment of 570 students including 46% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
It is a comprehensive high school (7-12), engaged in several initiatives to support students from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and for students from low socio-economic status communities. Kempsey High School became a Connected Communities High School in ****.
The school has an ICSEA (Index of Community Socio-Economic Advantage) of 854 and a FOEI (Family Occupation and Education Index) of 151.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (ITX) (Years 7-8), Industrial Technology Metal (ITM) and Industrial Technology Timber (ITW).




Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and deliver differentiated teaching programs support student growth and maintain high expectations for all students.
Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the school community.
Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the cultural, wellbeing and learning needs of students from low socio-economic backgrounds and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
