Your role at St John of God Midland Public Hospital
As a Senior Dietitian, you will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical nutrition and dietetic services to clients using advanced clinical practice skills.
to be considered for this role, you will require recent experience providing dietetic assessment and management in a critical care setting, including experience in enteral and parenteral nutrition.
You will be expected to work independently and demonstrate a specialist level of knowledge and depth of experience. You will also be expected to initiate and participate in teaching, training, research and quality activities, to supervise students and supervise and mentor junior caregivers.
The Position
Provides a senior nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and or outpatients including management of more complex patients.
Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients/clients
Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate.
Uses expert nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards.
Document patients' medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner.
Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required.
Supervise, instruct and assess dietetic junior caregivers, and students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager
Promotes professional values and ethics in clinical practice.
You will hold a tertiary qualification in Dietetics and eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) (formerly known as Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)) and evidence of Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status,



and experience in providing clinical education and supervision to junior staff and students.
You will have demonstrated ability to plan and implement assessments and appropriately apply Evidence Based Practice and dietetic knowledge to patient/client management, treatment interventions and discharge planning at advanced level of practice. You will demonstrate experience providing dietetic assessment and management in a critical care setting, including experience in enteral and parenteral nutrition.

We can offer you
Salary
$130,914 to $139,591 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
Permanent and fixed term full/part-time positions available, hours to be negotiated with successful applicants
