About the Role
The Epilepsy Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will provide specialist clinical care, patient consultation, advanced nursing leadership, education and care coordination for patients managed by the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.
The role provides continuity of care across emergency, inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring patients receive timely, coordinated and evidence-based care throughout their epilepsy journey.
The CNC acts as a consistent point of contact for patients, carers and healthcare professionals, facilitates progression through complex care pathways including epilepsy surgery, supports multidisciplinary team (MDT) decision-making, and contributes to service development, quality improvement and staff education.
Provide longitudinal care consultation and care coordination for patients with complex epilepsy across outpatient, inpatient and emergency settings.
Act as a designated epilepsy resource for patients requiring non-urgent clinical advice using agreed service communication pathways.
Coordinate patients progressing through the epilepsy surgery pathways (including stereo-EEG), ensuring timely completion of required investigations and multidisciplinary review.
Classifications for this position will be ZJ4 ($113,****** pro rata per annum).
Your Contribution
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
National Police Check
Post Graduate Qualification in relevant discipline
Demonstrated experience in neuroscience or epilepsy nursing.

The Department of Neurosciences is dedicated to delivering excellent, evidence-based and compassionate neurological care to Victorian patients from metropolitan, regional and nearby interstate areas.
Clinical Neurosciences is a multidisciplinary unit dedicated to improving the understanding and treatment of neurological disorders.
The unit provides a complete clinical and diagnostic service and maintains a solid research focus; principally centred on epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and movement disorders.
