Job Description
Grow your career outdoors with a hands‐on Apprenticeship in Parks and Gardens, helping shape and maintain some of Townsville's most iconic public spaces. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will develop practical skills through a competency‐based program that blends formal training with real‐world, on‐the‐job learning.
You will take pride in maintaining and enhancing the Riverway Sporting Precinct, helping to ensure this premier community and recreation destination remains safe, well‐maintained, and beautifully presented. Working across the precinct's sporting fields, landscaped areas, public spaces and facilities, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming environment for local sporting clubs, residents and visitors to enjoy year‐round.
This apprenticeship includes completing a 3-year Certificate III in Parks and Gardens through TAFE North Queensland, providing a nationally recognised qualification and a solid foundation for a rewarding career in horticulture and landscape maintenance.

About the Candidate
Willingness to be part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilst adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Minimum completed of Year 10 with passes in English and Mathematics.
Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers' licence (or ability to obtain).
Sound written and verbal communication skills.
Sound computer skills.
Ability to work effectively and be positively involved within a team environment.
Complete all training and assessment requirements of a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens as per the provided training plan.
This includes attending and participating in structured formal learning at the nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as well as keeping an accurate and up to date training record book.
