About Pilgrim Future Group
Pilgrim Future Group is an ambitious residential property group building three distinct businesses across the Queensland market.
Pilgrim Luxury Homes – Architecturally designed luxury custom homes.
Chapter Homes – Premium project homes and townhouse solutions.
Avenir Homes – Affordable house & land packages delivered through channel partners.
Together, these brands span the full residential market, with an ambitious vision to become one of Australia's most respected residential building groups.
As we enter our next phase of growth, we're seeking a driven Finance & Commercial Manager to help shape the future of the Group.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO and working alongside the General Manager, you'll play a key role in the financial and commercial leadership of the business.
This is far more than a finance management role.
You'll act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, helping guide strategic decisions through commercial insight, financial analysis and disciplined capital allocation. You'll oversee the Finance function while partnering across every part of the business—from luxury custom homes and project housing through to townhouse developments and our growing property development arm.
This role combines leadership with strong technical financial capability. You'll oversee the Finance function while remaining closely involved in financial modelling, development feasibilities, cash flow forecasting and commercial analysis. We value leaders who stay connected to the numbers and build the financial tools that support better business decisions.
Whether you're already leading a finance team or you're a high-performing finance professional ready to step into a broader leadership role, this position offers the opportunity to grow alongside a rapidly expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
Partner with the CEO and GM on strategic planning and business growth.

Prepare and review development feasibilities and investment models.
Lead financial analysis for acquisitions and development opportunities.
Oversee capital allocation across building and development projects.
Evaluate, negotiate and secure funding solutions for development projects.
Support investment decisions through detailed commercial analysis.
Monitor project profitability and return on investment.
Commercial Governance
Review, negotiate and manage commercial contracts.
Review finance documentation and key commercial agreements.
Ensure appropriate governance and commercial risk management across the Group.
Assets & Facilities
Oversee the Group's assets, including vehicles, plant, equipment and office facilities.
Manage insurance, asset registers and facilities.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and asset utilisation.
Banking & Stakeholder Management
Manage relationships with banks, financiers, accountants, legal advisors and external consultants.
Support debt facilities, refinancing and capital management initiatives.
About You
You'll ideally bring:
At least 5 years' experience
in finance, commercial finance or corporate finance.
Experience within residential construction,
property development or a related industry (highly regarded).
Strong understanding of the
QBCC Act, residential building contracts and Queensland residential construction compliance.
Strong experience preparing development feasibilities, financial models and investment analysis.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability.
Excellent cash flow forecasting and management reporting skills.
Commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into strategic business decisions.
Experience working with banks, financiers and funding structures.
CPA or CA qualification (preferred but not essential).
Who You Are
You're commercially minded, analytical and naturally curious.
You enjoy solving complex business problems, building financial models and using data to influence better decisions. You're comfortable working in spreadsheets, but equally confident collaborating with senior leaders and contributing to business strategy.
You thrive in a fast-moving environment, enjoy taking ownership, and are excited by the prospect to help build something significant. Whether you're looking to take the next step in your career or broaden your commercial responsibilities, you'll find genuine opportunities for growth within Pilgrim Future Group.
Why Join Pilgrim Future Group?
This is a rare opportunity to play a meaningful role in the growth of a high-performing residential construction group.
You'll work directly with the CEO, influence major business decisions, and gain exposure across luxury homes, project housing, townhouses and property development.
Your work will directly shape business performance, investment decisions and the future growth of the Group.
If you're looking for a career‐defining opportunity where finance, strategy and property intersect, we'd love to hear from you.
