BW Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Functions Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the delivery of functions across three hospitality venues in Hobart.
We're looking for someone who leads from the front, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering exceptional service while supporting and managing front-of-house teams.
About the Role
As a Functions Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of events, ensuring every function runs smoothly from start to finish. You will work closely with venue managers and kitchen teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences while maintaining high operational and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise front-of-house teams during functions and events.
Ensure the smooth and efficient execution of weddings, corporate events, and private functions.
Be hands-on throughout service, assisting the team wherever required.
Oversee event setups, pack downs, venue resets, and ensure all areas are prepared to company standards.
Manage and quality-check event pack-up lists, ensuring all equipment, furniture, linen, décor, beverages, and operational items required for each event are available and prepared in accordance with the event order.
Coordinate with venue, kitchen, and bar teams to ensure seamless event delivery.Delegate tasks, manage staff performance, and provide leadership throughout each shift.




Ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction.
Resolve operational issues promptly and professionally.
Complete end-of-service reporting and ensure venues are left clean, organised, and ready for the next service.
Maintain compliance with RSA, food safety, workplace health and safety, and company procedures.
About You
Previous experience in hospitality or functions management.
A confident leader who enjoys working alongside the team and leading by example.
Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities.
A sound understanding of food and beverage operations.
Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Current RSA certification.
