Global Engineering & Construction (GEC) is an Australian-owned, family-oriented and values-driven organisation delivering engineering, construction and project solutions across Australia's energy and infrastructure sectors.
As part of the broader Global Group, we're continuing to grow our project capability and are looking for a talented
Project Engineer
to join our Brisbane team.
This is an opportunity to step into a role where you won't be confined to one piece of the project lifecycle. You'll gain exposure across
tendering, planning, commercial management, project delivery and closeout
, working alongside experienced leaders and directly with our clients.
About the role
We're looking for a capable and adaptable Project Engineer with around
2–3 years' project experience
who is ready to take greater ownership and broaden their project delivery capability.
Based in Brisbane
, you'll join a small, agile projects team and work across a diverse portfolio of opportunities and live projects. You'll be involved from the early stages of understanding scope and developing tenders, through to scheduling, budgeting, execution and project closeout.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants the opportunity to
see projects through from start to finish rather than owning just one piece of the puzzle.
With purpose, respect and a driven mindset, you'll contribute by:
Supporting projects across the full lifecycle, from tender and planning through to execution and closeout
Reviewing scopes of work and contributing to tender preparation, estimates and project proposals
Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, forecasts and delivery plans
Supporting procurement, subcontractor engagement and commercial activities
Monitoring project costs, progress,

variations and key deliverables
Preparing and maintaining project documentation, registers and reporting
Working directly with clients and internal stakeholders to solve problems and keep projects moving
Identifying project risks, priorities and opportunities and proactively driving solutions.
Here's what you'll need to thrive in this role:
A Bachelor's degree in
Engineering
– mechanical, civil, project or a related discipline
Around
2–3 years' experience
within project engineering or project delivery
Practical experience with
project scheduling, budgeting and/or tendering
Confidence interpreting
scopes of work
and project requirements
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt when priorities change
Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
A proactive mindset and genuine desire to take ownership and continue developing your career.
Experience within construction, energy, oil & gas, SMP, pipelines or infrastructure will be highly regarded, but we're equally interested in the right person with strong project fundamentals, adaptability and the drive to learn.
Why join our team?
Build genuine end-to-end project experience:
Gain exposure from tender and planning right through to execution and closeout
Accelerate your development:

Work closely with experienced project leaders and take on increasing responsibility as you grow
Variety without being pigeonholed:
Work across different projects, clients and stages of delivery
Make an impact:
Join a small, agile team where your ideas and contribution will genuinely be noticed
Work directly with clients:
Build commercial awareness and stakeholder capability alongside your technical experience
Flexibility that works:
We support flexible working arrangements, with a collaborative Brisbane office environment and the ability to work from home
Be part of a growing Australian-owned business
delivering critical energy and infrastructure projects.
If you're an ambitious Project Engineer looking for broader exposure, greater ownership and the opportunity to build your career across the full project lifecycle, we'd love to hear from you.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have unrestricted Australian work rights.
The Global Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer
and values the diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives of our people. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
Being part of the Global team gives you access to a range of benefits alongside the opportunity to build a long-term career, including:

Birthday leave, because no one should have to work on their birthday!
Training and development opportunities to support your career progression
