We are seeking an experienced Train Driver to support rail operations at a major mining operation in Weipa, Far North Queensland. These site-based contract roles are available due to operational requirements and offer robust extension potential. GL class locomotive experience is desirable, with site-based familiarisation available for suitably qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Operate locomotives in line with rail, site, and safety procedures
Shunting and wagon movements
Changing rail switches and hosing down ore wagons
Routine inspections and general rail duties
Compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational requirements
Mandatory Requirements
Certificate IV in Train Driving
Current Category 1 Rail Medical
Ability to pass site medical, drug & alcohol, and background checks
Strong safety focus and ability to work on a remote site
