Join a high-performing team and be mentored by talented managers Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship required 5 days onsite role based South West Sydney Our client, a leader in the Food Distribution and Manufacturing industry , is seeking an experienced Odoo Functional Consultant to join their growing team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is a fully onsite role , requiring the successful candidate to work 5 days per week in the South Western Suburbs of Sydney .
Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship is essential for this position.
Focus: This role is to lead and support the organisation with effective use of the Odoo system and manage the continuous improvement of the Odoo system as the need for this arises.
You will configure the system, manage access and assist with data management.
You will work with other systems that integrate with Odoo such as our e-commerce system and route planning system.
You will work either in the context of ongoing support/continuous improvement but at times you can also work in a project context.
The role reports to the Group IT Manager.
Role/ Responsibilities: Advise the organisation on obtaining the most out of the Odoo system.
Guide and train staff on the effective use of the system.
Develop and maintain user documentation.
Assist with bulk data manipulation, imports and exports; perform data migration tasks.
Gather ad hoc business requirements, play these back to the relevant stakeholders and obtain approval for implementation.
Configure and setup the system to meet the defined business needs.
Manage user support tickets, perform troubleshooting and address system problems.
Liaise with the hosting and outsourced support provider for their day-to-day support and for those system changes that require customisation (software development).
Test system changes and guide staff with their user acceptance testing tasks.
Technical change management (ITIL) for all changes made to the Odoo system.
Managing system access and user permissions within the system.
Manage and support Odoo External API integrations with third-party applications and systems Key Skills Required: Thorough understanding of the Odoo functional capabilities and how the configure and setup the Odoo system.
Familiarity with Odoo's technical architecture and ability to perform basic customisations using Odoo Studio or similar tools.
Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for advanced data manipulation and automation tasks.
Familiarity with multi-company and multi-branch structures within Odoo, including intercompany transactions, company-specific settings and access controls.
Understanding of Odoo External API.
Ability to convey the best use of the system in a clear and concise way, both verbally and in written form.
Work in a structured and controlled way to assure that no uncontrolled and untested system changes are made.
Solid analytical abilities to understand business needs and define technical solutions to address these.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff in all levels of the organisation.
Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
