Cook Farm Boys Kebab Location: Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast QLD Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience About the Position Farm Boys Kebab is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our busy food service operation in Surfers Paradise on a full time basis.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking a range of menu items to the required quality and presentation standards.
The position requires practical experience in commercial food preparation and the ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, season and cook food in accordance with established recipes, preparation methods and food quality standards.
Prepare and cook kebabs, marinated chicken, wraps, snack packs, burgers, fish and other menu items.
Prepare and portion ingredients including meats, vegetables, sauces, gravies and other food products.
Operate and regulate commercial cooking equipment including kebab machines, grills, fryers, ovens and hotplates.
Monitor cooking temperatures and cooking times to ensure food is properly cooked and meets required quality standards.
Examine food ingredients and raw materials to ensure freshness and quality before use.
Prepare and marinate meats and other ingredients according to established recipes and preparation requirements.
Portion cooked food and prepare menu items for service with appropriate sauces, gravies and garnishes.
Store food and ingredients appropriately and maintain temperature controlled storage in accordance with food safety requirements.
Maintain consistent food quality, taste, portion sizes and presentation during service.
Assist with preparation and organisation of ingredients and food supplies before and during service.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of cooking equipment, utensils,



preparation areas and kitchen facilities.
Follow food safety, workplace health and safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
Assist with stock rotation and monitoring of food supplies to minimise waste and maintain adequate stock levels.
Work efficiently and cooperatively with other kitchen and service staff during busy trading periods.
Skills and Experience Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Commercial Cookery and Hospitality, or equivalent.
Relevant commercial cooking experience, preferably in a kebab shop, takeaway, restaurant or similar food service environment.
Demonstrated experience preparing and cooking a range of food products in a commercial kitchen.
Experience operating commercial cooking equipment including grills, fryers, ovens and kebab cooking equipment.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, food storage and food safety requirements.
Ability to maintain consistent food quality and presentation during busy service periods.
Ability to work independently and as part of a kitchen team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and public holidays.
Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards of workplace hygiene and food safety.
