Senior Automation Tester – Energy
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Automation Tester
to join a leading energy organisation, supporting the quality assurance and testing of critical business applications, integrations and technology platforms.
The role will focus on developing and executing robust automated testing solutions across applications, APIs, databases, integrations and infrastructure. You will work closely with development, business, architecture, DevOps and operational teams to ensure systems are reliable, resilient and fit for purpose in a business-critical energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design,



develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using
Playwright, Selenium, Reqnroll/Cucumber
and other modern automation technologies.
Develop automation solutions using
.NET, Java and/or Python
.
Perform comprehensive
API testing
using tools such as
Postman, Rest Assured and RestSharp
.
Integrate automated testing into
Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
.
Perform functional, integration, regression, system and end-to-end testing across complex enterprise applications.
Conduct
SQL and database validation
, including data integrity, transformation and reconciliation testing.
Test
batch processes, file-based integrations and API-based integrations
across multiple technology platforms.
Develop and execute
performance, resilience and reliability testing
.
Validate system
monitoring, logging and observability
, ensuring operational issues can be effectively detected, diagnosed and resolved.
Design and execute testing for
high availability, disaster recovery, automated failover, site switchovers and system recovery scenarios
.
Identify defects, perform root-cause analysis and work collaboratively with development and technical teams through to resolution.




Contribute to the continuous improvement of test automation frameworks, testing practices and quality engineering standards.
Prepare test documentation, results, defect reports and technical testing artefacts.
Collaborate across multiple teams and technology domains to ensure quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Essential Technical Skills & Experience
Strong experience in
test automation
using
Playwright, Selenium and Reqnroll/Cucumber
.
Strong API testing experience with
Postman, Rest Assured and/or RestSharp
.
Experience with
Azure DevOps and CI/CD testing
.
Strong
SQL and database validation
skills.
Experience testing
batch, file-based and API integrations
.
Hands-on experience with
performance, resilience and reliability testing
.
Experience validating

capabilities.
