Surgical Liaison Nurse to join the team on a Fixed Term appointment until March ****.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

Planned Surgery Liaison Nurse
to join our team at Surgical Service division at
Northern Health.
About the Role:
In this role, you will play a vital part in managing the
Planned Surgery Preparation List,
ensuring patients are well‐pre‐pared for surgery and cared for within clinically appropriate timeframes. You will work within the guidelines of the
Victorian Planned Surgery Access Policy *****),
helping us deliver high‐quality and timely surgical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the Planned Surgery Preparation List
Prioritise patient care and pre-operative requirements based on clinical urgency
Book patients onto theatre lists and liaise with surgical and administrative teams
Conduct waitlist audits and ensure accurate and up-to-date records
Identify and resolve scheduling or access issues for time‐critical cases

About You:
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration with minimum 5 years of postgraduate experience in acute setting.
Senior nurse with strong clinical knowledge and understanding of surgical procedures - experience in theatre, surgery, ICU or ED will be highly regarded
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Experience in care coordination, surgical bookings, or access management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
