Parks and Open Spaces Labourer
to join our vital and enthusiastic team maintaining and improving the region's open spaces and recreational facilities.
As a Parks and Open Spaces Labourer, you will be an essential part of the team responsible for maintaining parks, gardens, reserves, and public amenities across Cook Shire. You'll work in a supportive environment where safety, teamwork, and pride in your work are valued every day.

What you'll be doing
No two days are the same! You'll be:
Undertaking general grounds maintenance including moving, bush cutting, weeding, pruning and planting.
Maintaining playgrounds, sport fields, and other public spaces.
Operating small plant and equipment such as tractors, mowers, blowers, chainsaws and whipper snippers.
Assisting with streetscape maintenance, minor landscaping and development tasks.
Performing inspections and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues.
Supporting a team that appreciates initiative, clear communication and a can-do attitude.
What we're looking for
Previous experience in parks and open spaces maintenance or related outdoor work.
Ability to safely and competently operate relevant machinery and tools.
A strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
A robust safety awareness.
Physically fit and able to work in varying outdoor conditions.
A current MR Class Driver's Licence (Mandatory).
Construction White Card. (Mandatory).
Chainsaw or Horticultural qualifications (Highly regarded).

Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B: Division 2, Section 5) Award – State **** - Level 2 $69,678 per annum + eligible allowances
Leave Entitlements:
5 weeks annual leave per annum, 15 days personal leave per annum, 9 day fortnight
Superannuation:
12% Superannuation contributions
