About the opportunity
The HR Partnering function is in a period of significant development, striving to achieve an integrated service offering aligned with the University's ambitious workforce strategy and organisational design objectives.
To support continuity of client service over a period of internal movements within the HR Partnering team, we are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, HR Partnering to provide strategic guidance across their client portfolios; this role will be supporting the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science across key aspects that relate to the University and HR strategy. As a leader within the HR Partnering function, the incumbent will champion exemplary people management strategies and practices, both directly and indirectly through a team of HR Partners.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
lead the development and implementation of strategies and plans for the HR Service Delivery to defined portfolio groups to support the achievement of business objectives
pro-actively managing an integrated and outwardly focused stakeholder engagement strategy to ensure sound understanding of objectives and the discrete HR Partnering team are developing and maintaining trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
deploying strategies to implement best practice HR tools, methodologies and frameworks to develop and implement across defined client groups
collaboration with HR Partners, in leading the development of annual client people plans and projects that reference overarching university strategy and the university's workforce plan
proactively engaging and collaborating with peers and the HR Centres of Expertise to present client solutions that are robust, consistent with other areas of the University and work towards common goals
collaboration with the Associate Director, HR Partnering to develop strategies and operational solutions which are measurable and effective implementation of initiatives to pro-actively demonstrate the teams return on investment
lead and manage a team of HR Partners in providing support to a portfolio group by providing effective guidance and support, by ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork takes place within the team, between the team and other groups within Human Resources.
About you
tertiary qualifications in a relevant field of an equivalent combination of training and experience
previous experience leading a team of HR professionals
extensive experience in HR Partnering coupled with an understanding of industry best practice, with the capability to deliver integrated, commercially sound HR solutions
demonstrated highly developed strategic relationship and senior stakeholder management skills, together with the demonstrated ability to influence outcomes
delivery of operational excellence and experience developing fit for purpose HR solutions that meet the needs of the organisational goals and customers
previous experience gained in large, complex, matrixed organisations
prior experience in a 'business partnering' environment and an ability to build individuals and team capabilities and deliver collaborative achievements and shared goals.
