The Porgera Gold Mine will employ nearly 3,000 Papua New Guineans at full production, and over the last 30 years of life of the mine it has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea's total annual exports.
About the role
New Porgera Limited is seeking an experienced
Senior Specialist - Accounts Payable
to support our finance team in managing high-volume invoice processing, vendor relationships, and accurate, timely payments.
Reporting to the Superintendent - Commercial, you will take ownership of processing high-volume FX invoices from end-to-end in SAP, ensuring accuracy, timely posting, and smooth workflows in line with company policies. You'll review and validate invoices against purchase orders and contracts, applying the correct coding and GST treatment while maintaining strong attention to detail and compliance.
You'll play a key part in building positive relationships, investigating and resolving vendor account discrepancies, and working closely with both suppliers and internal teams to keep everything running seamlessly. Managing vendor queries with clear, friendly communication, you'll help support efficient payment cycles and a great stakeholder experience. You'll also reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable ledgers, ensuring everything balances accurately and contributing to a smooth and successful month-end close.
About you
You will bring experience from a similar role,



ideally within the resources sector or similar. Experience supporting a PNG operation is highly desirable however not essential. This is a fast-paced, business-critical position requiring a mature, proactive qualified who can work autonomously, manage a high workload, and confidently deliver outcomes without the need for close supervision. We are looking for someone who can quickly integrate into the team, prioritise effectively, hit the ground running.
You will hold relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related discipline. Must have SAP. This position is not site-based and offers a flexible hybrid arrangement, combining remote work with time in our newly established Brisbane office in Fortitude Valley, conveniently located less than a five-minute walk from the train station. There will also be the opportunity to visit site once or twice per year, as required, to connect and collaborate with your team.
