About the Position: The Cabinetmaker role at Padra Kitchens Joinery Pty Ltd is essential for delivering high-quality custom cabinetry and joinery solutions.
This position involves reading and interpreting drawings, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and installing cabinetry and joinery components with precision and care.
The Cabinetmaker works closely with the team to ensure products are manufactured and installed to the highest standards, meeting client specifications and maintaining the functionality, durability and aesthetic appeal of each project in a dynamic joinery environment.
Key Responsibilities: Examine drawings, specifications, plans and work orders to determine cabinetry and joinery requirements, dimensions, materials and construction methods.
Select appropriate timber,



manufactured boards, laminates, veneers, hardware and other materials required for the manufacture of kitchens, wardrobes and custom joinery.
Measure, mark, cut, shape and prepare timber and manufactured board components using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.
Set up and operate woodworking machinery and equipment to cut, shape, drill and prepare cabinetry components accurately in accordance with specifications.
Manufacture and assemble kitchen cabinets, cupboards, wardrobes, shelving units, vanities and other custom joinery by fitting and securing prepared components.
Construct joints and assemble cabinetry components using appropriate joining methods, adhesives, fasteners and fittings to achieve accurate and durable finished products.
Fit hinges, drawer runners, handles, locks, shelving systems and other cabinet hardware and accessories.
Check completed cabinetry and joinery against drawings, measurements and specifications, making necessary adjustments to ensure correct dimensions, alignment, fit and finish.
Prepare cabinetry surfaces and apply or fit laminates, veneers, edging and other finishing materials as required by project specifications.
Install completed cabinets, kitchens, wardrobes and custom joinery at residential and commercial sites,



including positioning, levelling, securing and adjusting components to achieve an accurate fit.
Repair, adjust and replace damaged or defective cabinetry, fittings and joinery components where required.
Coordinate with supervisors, designers, installers and other trades to resolve technical or installation issues and ensure cabinetry is manufactured and installed in accordance with project requirements.
Maintain woodworking tools, machinery and work areas in safe working condition and perform routine checks and minor adjustments where required.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures when operating machinery, handling materials and undertaking workshop and on-site installation activities.
Requirements: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology, or an equivalent relevant trade qualification in cabinetmaking or joinery; or an equivalent overseas qualification relevant to cabinetmaking and joinery.
2–3 years relevant practical industry experience in cabinetmaking, kitchen manufacturing, custom joinery or a closely related field.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications; skilled in manufacturing, assembling and installing cabinetry; experience using woodworking machinery, power and hand tools; strong attention to detail and quality workmanship; good teamwork and workplace safety awareness.
