This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, collaboration and a curious, solutions-focused approach. The Governance Officer coordinates and supports the organisation's governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and internal requirements.
Working closely with the Governance, Risk & Assurance Manager (or equivalent), the role contributes across governance, risk, compliance and assurance, including complaints management, funder reporting, risk management and maintaining ISO ****, ISO ***** and ISO ***** certifications. The role also supports a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and effective governance across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Experience in
complaints handling, obligation reporting, ISO certification maintenance, and risk management
.
Experience in
governance, compliance, risk and assurance
, preferably within a not-for-profit, regulated or Indigenous business environment.
Strong knowledge of
governance frameworks, legislative and regulatory requirements, ISO quality, environment, WHS, and risk management
.
Experience supporting
quality assurance and audit,
policy compliance, training and awareness for governance frameworks including risk management
.
Knowledge of
complaints management, privacy, data, and information security governance
.
Experience with
risk assessments and oversight of registers, internal audits and quality assurance, corrective action monitoring, and continuous improvement
.
Understanding of
ISO ****, ISO ***** and ISO *****
and integrated management systems.
Robust
analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills
, with excellent attention to detail and communication.
Demonstrated understanding and respect for
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the Indigenous business sector
.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in
business, governance, law, public administration or a related discipline
are desirable.
Ability to manage competing priorities with
integrity, confidentiality and sound judgement
.
Suitably qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Additional requirements
This position isdesignatedas requiring a satisfactory National Police Check as an inherent requirement. Appointment to the role is subject to the successful completion of a criminal history check and the provision of a clearancedeemedacceptable by Supply Nation in line with policy. Rescreening is alsorequiredat regular intervals and under specific conditions.
