Belmont District Hospital is a 103-bed community hospital in the beautiful Lake Macquarie region, offering the perfect balance of career and lifestyle, with Newcastle, beaches and outdoor activities close by.
Our busy General Surgical Ward (1FNB) provides care across general surgery, urology, gynaecology and orthopaedics. You'll work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, caring for patients throughout their surgical journey while building your clinical skills, confidence and experience.
What You'll Do
Clinical assessment, monitoring and recognising changes in patient condition
Medication administration and treatment
Wound care and surgical drain management
Supporting personal care, recovery and activities of daily living
Working collaboratively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team
Developing care and discharge plans and providing patient education
Maintaining accurate documentation and clinical handover
Contributing to a safe, supportive and positive ward environment
Develop Your Surgical Nursing Skills

What We're Looking For
We're looking for Registered Nurses who are compassionate, adaptable and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
To Be Successful, You Will Have
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Effective time management and the ability to prioritise competing clinical demands




The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
A commitment to safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care
Surgical nursing experience is desirable, particularly experience in wound care and drain management
A willingness to learn, develop and contribute to a supportive team environment
