Our Branch
The Business Improvement Branch brings together planning, insights and innovation to shape how Public Transport Services evolves. The team focuses on making performance visible, improving decision making and driving better outcomes across the network.
The Role
This role leads the development, standardisation and continuous improvement of business process management across Public Transport Services. You will work closely with leaders and operational teams to design, embed and uplift consistent processes that improve performance, compliance and customer outcomes.
You will play a key role in shaping how work is done across the division, ensuring processes are clear, efficient and aligned to strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities include
lead the mapping and documentation of current and future state business process across Public Transport Services
implement and maintain Council's process mapping framework using tools such as Signavio
identify and deliver process improvement initiatives to remove inefficiencies and improve performance
establish governance and compliance frameworks to support consistent process standards
provide expert advice on process design, optimisation and standardisation
monitor and report on process performance using meaningful metrics and insights




support stakeholder engagement and change activities to embed improved processes
build organisational capability in process management through coaching and structured approaches.
To be successful you will have
demonstrated experience leading business process management or continuous improvement in a complex organisation
strong expertise in process mapping methodologies and tools such as Signavio or equivalent
proven ability to identify and deliver measurable process improvement outcomes
experience establishing governance and compliance frameworks
well developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
strong analytical capability and ability to translate data into insights.
Desirable
experience in public transport, infrastructure or government environments
experience supporting large scale transformation or operating model change
formal qualifications or certification in business process management or continuous improvement
