A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Senior Analyst - Operational Risk Measurement to join a specialist enterprise risk team on an initial 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced analyst with strong quantitative and data analysis capabilities to apply their skills in a risk setting. You'll work across operational risk measurement, scenario analysis, loss event data, reporting and risk insights, helping to support critical risk management and regulatory activities.
About the Role
As a Senior Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting the organisation's operational risk measurement framework and providing meaningful insights to senior stakeholders. You'll work with large datasets, contribute to scenario analysis and stress testing activities, and assist in the development and maintenance of risk measurement models.
Key responsibilities include:
Analysing operational loss and risk data to identify trends, emerging risks and key insights.
Supporting scenario analysis and stress testing activities across the business.
Preparing insights-based reporting and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Performing data reconciliation, validation and quality assurance activities.
Supporting quantitative and statistical models used for operational risk measurement.
Assisting with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
Identifying and driving process improvement opportunities across risk measurement activities.
About You
We're looking for an experienced analyst who can quickly get up to speed, work independently and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
You'll bring:
3+ years' experience in data analytics, quantitative modelling, statistics, risk analytics or a related field.




Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working with large and complex datasets.
Exposure to tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Python or R.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
Highly regarded:
Operational risk experience.
Scenario analysis or stress testing exposure.
Capital or risk measurement experience.
Financial services or banking background.
Knowledge of APRA-regulated environments.
