Operating from facilities in Coolum and Brisbane, we have the capability to produce up to 1,800 modules each year through a smarter, more productive construction approach.Our team is driven, down-to-earth, and committed to doing things well, with a strong focus on quality, people, and continuous improvement.About the RoleThis is a hands-on HR & Payroll role reporting directly to the Managing Director, with full accountability across payroll, the employee lifecycle, and employee relations.
You'll work across both strategic and operational HR, partnering with leaders while remaining closely involved in the day-to-day to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance are consistently delivered.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end payroll (weekly/fortnightly), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timelinessInterpret awards, contracts, allowances, and entitlementsOversee STP, superannuation, payroll tax, and reporting obligationsMaintain data integrity and resolve payroll discrepanciesManage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processesPrepare contracts, documentation, and HR recordsCoordinate apprenticeships, including RTO and compliance requirementsManage leave, HR queries,



and system administrationManage Workcover and return to workAct as the go-to for ER matters across the businessSupport managers with performance, conduct, and investigationsManage grievances and ensure fair, compliant outcomesContribute to workforce planning and HR strategyDrive improvements across HR systems, processes, and complianceSupport performance reviews and development initiativesWhat We're Looking ForProven experience in a HR Generalist / HR Manager role with payroll ownershipStrong understanding of Australian employment law, Fair Work, and award interpretationEnd-to-end payroll experience (including STP, super, tax, and reporting)Confident handling employee relations, investigations, and performance managementAbility to operate both strategically and hands‐onStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsExperience in construction, manufacturing, or trade-based environments (highly regarded)Exposure to apprenticeships, Q-Leave, or similar schemes (highly regarded)Experience with Employment Hero and developing it to streamline business processesWhy Join SaltairWork directly with leadership and influence business outcomesBroad role with real ownership across HR and payrollGrowing business with strong pipeline and national ambitionSupportive, down-to-earth team cultureOpportunity to shape systems, processes, and strategy
