Management Accountant - Construction IndustryOn behalf of a construction business, we're currently looking for an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis in their office on the Northside of Brisbane.This role will suit an accounting professional who has a strong background in the construction industry.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is a proactive team player who enjoys working closely with operational staff to improve financial performance and support strategic decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesAs an integral part of the financial management of the business, you'll provide demonstrated experience in project costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and cash flow management.
You'll also be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting, project analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial support to senior management and project teams.Other responsibilities include:Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.Analyse project profitability, margins and cash flow projectionsWork closely with your Project Managers to monitor project costs and provide commercial insights.Support tender pricing and commercial decision-making.Maintain robust financial controls and compliance with industry standards.Assist with year-end financial statements, audit requirements and taxation obligations.Oversee the accounts payable approval process.Ensure timely processing of supplier invoices and paymentAssist and identify opportunities to improve financial processes,



systems and reporting.To be successful in this role, you will have:CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion)A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Management AccountantDemonstrated experience within the construction industryA solid understanding of:Project costingWork-in-progress (WIP) reporting.Budgeting and forecastingCash flow managementAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsExperience using Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax and ProcoreExcellent analytical, organisation, communication and problem-solving skillsExceptional time management skills in a fast-paced environmentPersonal AttributesOur ideal candidate will be:Commercially focused with excellent attention to detailProactive and solutions-orientedAble to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholdersHighly organised and capable of managing multiple prioritiesA collaborative team player who enjoys working with senior leadersWhy Apply?
