About us




ESS forms part of Civil and Enforcement Services (CES) which sits within the Justice Services and Regulation division. In addition to its core responsibilities, ESS manages a range of social justice initiatives such as the Work and Development Permit Scheme, the Family Violence Scheme, the Time Served Scheme, the Prison Program Scheme and Special Circumstances, all aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals who are impacted by infringement or court fines.
What you will do
As Social Justice Officer, you will assess applications from members of the public.
You will provide clear advice and help keep social justice services running well.
You will:
assess applications using
professional
judgement and relevant rules, policies and guidelines
provide
accurate
and timely advice to people and staff
help develop and monitor policies, procedures, systems and strategies
keep
clear
database records and reports in line with records rules
find ways to improve services, processes and systems
About you
No formal qualifications are required. Experience applying legislation, policies or procedures is highly desirable.
You should also have:
practical experience
applying legislation, policies or procedures, with social justice experience desirable
solid IT skills




and confidence using Microsoft Office and other systems
sound judgement
and problem-solving skills when guidelines do not cover an issue
clear communication
and the ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds
