Robust hands-on firewall and data centre experience is essential.Detailed Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer - Network Security to join our client on a 6 month contract.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on implementing and supporting firewall changes across data centre environments.
You will manage firewall rules, troubleshoot connectivity issues and work closely with Network, Security and Infrastructure teams.Previous experience supporting firewalls within data centre environments is essential for this role.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, modify and remove firewall rules and policiesSupport firewall rule requests and change activitiesReview existing firewall rules and configurationsTroubleshoot firewall and network connectivity issuesManage NAT, access and security policiesPerform firewall rule reviews,



clean-up and optimisationInvestigate incidents relating to firewall policies and connectivityAssess firewall change requests and identify potential risks or impactsTest and validate firewall changes following implementation Work closely with Network, Security, Infrastructure and Data Centre teams Follow established change management and security processes Maintain accurate technical documentation and change recordsSkills & ExperienceStrong hands-on experience as a Firewall or Network Security EngineerData centre networking and firewall experience is essentialStrong experience configuring and supporting enterprise firewallsExperience managing firewall rules, policies and change requestsGood understanding of data centre network environments Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, NAT, VPNs, ports and network protocols Experience troubleshooting complex firewall and connectivity issues Experience with enterprise firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point or Cisco Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience working within structured change management environments Good communication and documentation skills 6 month contract Sydney-based Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite per week No requirement to physically attend the data centres
