Caretakers Cottage is seeking an experienced Residential Youth Worker to join our Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) team at our Youth Crisis Refuge on a permanent full-time basis.The successful candidate will be working within a small professional team of Youth Workers and Caseworkers who collectively provide support, mentoring, casework support and supervision to young people aged between 13 and 17 years of age.
The refuge is staffed 24 hours/day.This permanent full-time role is based off a fortnightly set roster with a mixture of afternoon, sleepover (non-active) and weekend shifts.
Candidates with full availability will be highly regarded as shift work is an essential component of this role.What you will do:Supervision and support of young people who are residents of the crisis refugeBuild a positive, secure and supportive home environment for our young peopleImplementation of case plans and/or behaviour management plansRespond to challenging situations calmly and safelyMaintain a structured and supportive environmentAssisting our young people to develop their independence and living skillsComplete case notes, working collaboratively with Caseworkers to implement case plans and assist with daily household dutiesAbout you:Minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work (or related field)1+ years' experience in community services,



experience working in residential care is highly regardedExperience supporting young people in times of crisisFlexible to participate in a fortnightly roster, availability for evenings, weekends, and sleepover shifts is an essential component of this roleConfident, reliable, and approachableAble to work independently and as part of a teamCurrent NSW Driver's LicenceFirst Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)Willing to complete Working With Children Check & National Police ChecksOnly shortlisted applicants will be contacted.We are committed to maintaining a child‐safe environment.
