Ampol Garbutt Store Manager- Petrol, Convenience & TakeawayWe are seeking an experienced Store Manager - Petrol, Convenience & Takeaway to join Tropic Petroleum in Townsville, QLD.
This is a full-time position based on-site at our Ampol Garbutt location.
As Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of our retail convenience store, petrol station, and takeaway facilities.
This role is strategically important to our business, as you will be driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff performance, and maintaining compliance across all operational areas.
You will play a key role in delivering profitability and maintaining the high standards expected of an Ampol-branded site.Key responsibilitiesOversee daily store operations including petrol station, convenience store, and takeaway services to ensure smooth, efficient running of the siteManage and motivate a team of staff members, including recruitment, training, scheduling and developmentDrive sales and revenue growth through effective merchandising, promotional strategies, and customer service excellenceMaintain stock levels and manage inventory across petrol, convenience products and takeaway items, ensuring optimal stock rotation and minimising wastageEnsure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and legal regulations, including those specific to fuel retail operationsMonitor financial performance, manage budgets,



control costs and work towards profitability targetsDeliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming environment that encourages repeat businessMaintain cleanliness, presentation and safety standards throughout the store, forecourt and takeaway areasReport on store performance metrics and communicate with senior management regarding operational challenges and opportunitiesManage cash handling, reconciliation and security proceduresWhat we're looking forProven experience in retail store management, ideally within a petrol station, convenience store or similar multi-faceted retail environmentStrong leadership and people management skills with the ability to recruit, train, motivate and manage teams effectivelyDemonstrated ability to drive sales and achieve financial targets whilst maintaining operational efficiencyKnowledge of petrol station operations and fuel retail compliance requirements is highly advantageousExcellent customer service orientation with a track record of building customer loyaltyStrong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesProficiency with retail management systems and point-of-sale technologySound understanding of health,
