We proudly represent world-leading manufacturers, providing equipment sales, servicing, repairs and technical support to some of Australia's largest airports and aviation operators.We're looking for an experienced Workshop Technician to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualifiedMechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician or Electricianlooking for a varied, hands-on role working with specialised equipment in the aviation industry.If you enjoy fault finding, solving technical problems and working on a wide range of modern equipment, we'd love to hear from you.What you'll be working onYou'll service, maintain and repair a diverse range of aviation ground support equipment including:Aircraft tugsBelt loadersBaggage tractorsCargo loadersPassenger stairsGround power unitsSpecialised airport support equipmentNo two days are the same, with a combination of preventative maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown response, commissioning and equipment upgrades.Key responsibilitiesDiagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical faultsComplete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenanceAttend breakdowns and minimise customer downtimeInstall, commission and test recent equipmentComplete OEM upgrades,



service bulletins and warranty repairsMaintain accurate service records using electronic reporting systemsProvide professional technical support and outstanding customer serviceWork safely while complying with company and airport safety requirementsTravel occasionally to support customers across Australia when requiredAbout youYou'll be someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical work and takes pride in delivering quality repairs.Ideally you'll have:Mechanical, Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrical, Mobile Plant or Electrical trade qualificationExperience working on heavy vehicles, mobile plant, forklifts, agricultural, mining, construction or industrial equipmentStrong diagnostic and fault-finding skillsAbility to work independently and manage your workloadGood communication and customer service skillsCurrent Australian Driver's LicenceHighly regarded, but not essential:Experience with PLCs, CANBus or electric drive systemsHydraulic fault-finding experienceAviation Ground Support Equipment experienceAirside operating experienceWhy join Freightquip?
