Penico Engineering is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team on a full-time basis at our facility in Tighes Hill, NSW.
This is a critical position within our manufacturing operations, where you will operate and maintain computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to produce precision components.
As a CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in ensuring our production meets strict quality standards and deadlines, directly contributing to the success of our engineering projects and client satisfaction.Key responsibilitiesOperate CNC machines including mills, lathes, and multi-axis equipment to produce precision components according to technical drawings and specificationsSet up and programme CNC machines, including tool selection, work holding, and coordinate establishmentConduct routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevityMonitor machine operations and finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerancesRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to understand production requirementsPerform measurements and quality checks using precision instruments such as micrometres, callipers, and gaugesTroubleshoot machine problems and make necessary adjustments to optimise production outputMaintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities produced and any issues encounteredCollaborate with supervisors and other team members to meet production schedules and quality objectivesAdhere to all health and safety protocols and workplace proceduresWhat we're looking forTrade qualification or formal training in machining, CNC operation, or a related mechanical disciplineDemonstrated experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing or engineering environmentProficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specificationsStrong knowledge of machining processes,
cutting tools, and tool geometryExperience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and CNC programming languages such as G-codeExcellent attention to detail and commitment to producing components that meet precise tolerancesAbility to work independently whilst also collaborating effectively within a team environmentStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issuesReliability and a proactive approach to workplace safety and health standardsPhysical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in a manufacturing environmentPreferred experience with multi-axis CNC machines or advanced programming techniquesWhat we offerPenico Engineering is committed to supporting the professional development and wellbeing of our team members.
