Not every technician gets to work on infrastructure that keeps people connected where normal networks do not reach.I am Andrew from Itch, and I am looking for a practical, switched-on technician for a specialist satellite communications business operating a critical gateway site in Dubbo.This is hands-on site work.
RF equipment.
Antennas.
Power.
Cooling.
Fibre.
Security systems.
The infrastructure behind a live satellite gateway that needs to keep doing its job.You will monitor the site, respond to alarms, troubleshoot faults, complete preventative maintenance and coordinate contractors.
You will not be sitting behind a desk all day closing tickets and passing problems on.WHAT STANDS OUTSatellite and RF infrastructure, not standard IT supportA broad technical mix: antennas, power, cooling, cabling, access control and CCTVGenuine ownership of a critical operational siteA chance to become the trusted technical resource locallyEnough variety to keep a practical problem-solver interestedYOU WILL NEEDExperience in telecommunications, RF, radio, satellite, critical infrastructure or similar technical environmentsStrong fault-finding ability,



mechanical aptitude and basic electrical or electronic troubleshooting skillsAn understanding of RF communications systemsExperience with Cat5/6 and fibre cablingComfort using technical documentation, ticketing systems, Windows and LinuxA current driver's licenceA safety-first mindset and the maturity to know when to fix, escal...You do not need to have worked on a satellite gateway before.
You do need to be calm under pressure, positive with your hands and proud of doing maintenance properly before something breaks.THE PRACTICAL BITThis is five days on site in Dubbo, with an on-call roster and occasional after-hours call-outs.You will receive a company phone, laptop and parking, plus the opportunity to build specialist capability in a technical field with a relatively limited pool of dedicated satellite and RF roles across Australia.All applicants must hold full Australian work rights & currently live in Dubbo or be able to travel to the work location daily
