Contracts Administrator - Client Side - Rail ProjectsSupport commercial and contract administration for a major $150m+ station upgrade project amongst other jobsKey commercial role supporting project delivery, cost control and commercial outcomesExperience in rail, transport or major infrastructure projects would be highly desirablePotential ASAP start for the right candidateSupport commercial and contract administration for a major $150m+ station upgrade project amongst other jobsKey commercial role supporting project delivery, cost control and commercial outcomesExperience in rail, transport or major infrastructure projects would be highly desirablePotential ASAP start for the right candidateGreat opportunity to join a major infrastructure project team working on a landmark $150m to $200m+ transport upgrade project.Our client is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join their skilled project team working on a major $150m to $200m+ station upgrade project in Brisbane.The Contract Administrator will support the commercial management of the project through the delivery phase, with responsibility for the detailed administration, assessment and monitoring of contractor costs, payment claims, variations and Target Outturn Cost (TOC) adjustment events.The Contract Administrator will report to the Commercial Manager and work closely with the Project Manager, Project Director, Project Controls team and broader project delivery team.
The role will support the successful commercial delivery of the project and ensure contractual, financial and commercial requirements are effectively managed throughout the delivery phase.Years of experience:5 - 10+ yearsMain Responsibilities:Review, assess and certify monthly payment claims,
including detailed verification of contractor cost submissionsEnsure contractor costs are appropriately allocated against the approved Financial Control Plan and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS)Identify, investigate and elevate commercial, contractual and cost-related issues arising from payment claim assessmentsAssess variations, compensation events and TOC adjustment eventsMaintain accurate commercial registers and project recordsReview and monitor contingency usage in accordance with contractual requirementsMonitor contractor cost performance and provide transparency of cost trends, risks and forecast outcomesPrepare commercial correspondence, notices, assessments and recommendations in accordance with the ContractSupport monthly commercial reporting and work closely with Project Controls to validate and report project financial performanceAdminister interfaces with related project agreements and key stakeholdersManage commercial interfaces with the Independent Certifier, Independent Safety Assessor and Independent Financial AuditorManage third-party interface agreements and associated commercial requirementsProvide commercial advice and support to the Project Manager, Project Director and Commercial ManagerSupport the broader project team to ensure commercial issues are identified and managed effectivelyPromote accurate, timely and commercially sound decision-making across the projectQualifications & Skills:Demonstrated experience administering complex Design and Construct contracts during the delivery phaseExperience working with Incentivised Target Cost (ITC), target cost or other fully cost-reimbursable contract models would be highly desirableStrong experience in the assessment of payment claims, variations and cost reimbursement mechanismsExperience in contract administration and commercial management processesExperience working on major infrastructure, rail or transport projects highly desirableExperience working within integrated project delivery teamsStrong understanding of project financial controls, cost reporting and commercial processes
