The Medical Oncology Unit at Peter Mac includes world leading experts in multiple tumour types, and is supported by Australia's largest cancer clinical trials unit.
We invite applications to join our team as a Medical Oncology Clinical Fellow, tailored for Advanced Trainees completing or recently completed their Medical Oncology training, offering a unique blend of clinical trial expertise and specialised multidisciplinary cancer care.Key Responsibilities:Provide high-quality care to patients receiving both standard of care treatments and clinical trials, largely in the outpatient setting across a number of different tumour streamsContribute to clinical trial operations and deliver expert medical oncology care within a multidisciplinary team.Support our medical oncology registrars and junior medical staff where appropriate, with opportunities for teaching including medical student teachingGain hands-on experience in managing patients independently whilst maintaining support and supervision from leading global expertsAddress particular gaps in training or specific tumour streams of interestWork in a multidisciplinary environment renowned for being drivers for cancer care and researchAccess to experts and facilities that span the entire breath of oncology research, from clinical, translational,



basic and health services research, with opportunities to transition to a research higher degreeIdeal Candidate:This position is ideally suited to motivated Advanced Trainees with a passion for learning and providing high quality cancer care and research.To provide high quality patient treatment and care, contribute to a research program and participate in educationDoctors in Training (Victorian Public Health Sector) (AMA Victoria) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement *********Classification or Salary RangeImmunisation Category AKey RelationshipsInternal:Effective working relationships with medical oncology registrars, haematology registrars and other fellows, resident staff, consultants, nursing and allied health staff.Effective working relationships with all staff involved in clinical trials.Readiness to take direction and willingness to learn from supervisors, other members of the team and other colleagues.EducationSkillsMedical Qualifications registerable by the Medical Board of VictoriaCompleted at least two core years of registrar level of training in medical oncologyAbility to work in a multidisciplinary team settingAbility to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplinesPrevious clinical trial experience an advantageCertifications, Licenses & RegistrationsKey AccountabilitiesKey Accountabilities Demonstrated by / Key Perfomance Indicators1.

cost effective approach.Attendance to selected outpatient clinics and clinics in Day WardCompletes all patient related documentation according to the Centre's needsParticipates in after-hour and weekend cover roster for medical oncologyLiaises and communicates with the multidisciplinary treating teamContributes to team meetings and educational activitiesActively and regularly participates in peer review patient related activitiesParticipates in departmental research projects and auditsWorks effectively with all internal and external stakeholdersClose liaison with specialist members of the medical oncology UnitFollows hospital policies and procedures2.
Clinical Research Protocol DevelopmentEnrols and manages patients on clinical trialsParticipates in clinical trial management (if appropriate)Develops clinical research protocols, including preparation, submission to committees, analysis and manuscript preparation (if appropriate)3.
Manuscript preparationPrepares and submits manuscripts (trial results, case reports, reviews, book chapters etc.)Participates in laboratory research activities (as applicable)5.
