Brookfield is committed to the development of our people through challenging work assignments and exposure to diverse businesses.Job DescriptionThe role of Manager, Taxation will be primarily to assist the Director and Vice President of Tax by ensuring tax compliance and operations matters are appropriately addressed, including BAU compliance (across all Australian taxes), tax due diligence, tax risk management and revenue authority activity (as required) for BPG.This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development and growth as a Tax professional in a highly dynamic and challenging work environment.What you'll doSupport the Tax Director and Tax VP as requiredAssistance across all areas of "BAU" taxes including Income tax, GST, Pillar 2, International tax matters (e.g. Transfer Pricing and Hybrids), payroll, FBTAssistance with preparation of annual income tax returns, review quarterly distributions, and coordinate various compliance engagements with external advisors (which feed into positions adopted in the tax returns – e.g. thin capitalisation, hybrids, transfer pricing, tax fixed asset registers)Assist in tax due diligence as requiredProactively identify and communicate tax issues and recommend a course of action to the Tax Director / VP on a timely basisProvide ongoing tax support to Finance, HR, Legal and Company SecretarialAssist with ATO reviews as requiredMaintain and expand technical tax knowledgeAssistance with tax forecasting (e.g. forecasted exit gains) and business planningAssistance with calculations relevant to disposalsAssistance with step plans pertaining to acquisitions and / or disposals as relevantAssistance with quarterly and annual tax reporting obligations (including use of TRCS) including tax disclosures in financial statementsAssistance with preparation of fringe benefits tax returnAct as first tax review for monthly BAS and assisting with ITX Edge.Seeking opportunities for automationProvide support on ad hoc tax advisory mattersProvide guidance to tax administratorWho we're looking for5 years of corporate tax experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm,



top tier law firm and/or in industry with a multinational corporate group for someone looking to make the next step;Direct experience in Australian real estate and trust structures is highly regarded;Technical knowledge of Australian tax rules including corporate reorganisations favourably regarded;Working knowledge of tax effect accounting, review, and preparation of tax related disclosures for statutory financial statements;Understanding of and experience with inbound cross-border tax issues favourably regarded;Strong written and verbal communication skills including an ability to communicate complex tax matters and issues in a concise and simple manner;Ability to multi-task, work autonomously and in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment; andGood project management skills and applies a commercially pragmatic and efficient approach to handling complex assignments.Experienced in corporate tax or finance sectors.Experience in investment / asset management sector highly regardedBrookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe and respectful; our shared success depends on it.
