A major transport infrastructure project (valued at more than $1 billion) is underway across South East Queensland, delivering complex rail, station and civil works requiring disciplined financial control and reporting.
The head contractor is seeking a Cost Controller to manage financial reporting, budgets and cost control for the greenfield delivery scope.
You'll track commitments and accruals, manage cost codes and forecasting, support change control processes and produce cost reports for project leadership with advanced spreadsheet capability and platform expertise.Indigenous Business Growth (IBG) is a majority Indigenous owned recruitment business registered with Supply Nation, specialising in civil engineering, infrastructure, construction and major project recruitment.
We partner closely with contractors, engineering consultancies and delivery organisations to place high quality technical professionals.
Our approach is relationship led and commercially grounded, built on practical industry experience and a explicit understanding of how complex projects are delivered.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain project budgets, cost codes and budget allocation systemsTrack commitments, purchase orders,



accruals and actual expendituresProduce monthly cost reports and variance analysis for project leadershipForecast costs and support change order financial evaluationManage cost-related aspects of contract administrationSupport earned value analysis and project financial performance trackingCoordinate with finance, procurement and subcontractor teams on cost mattersMaintain cost reconciliation and audit trailsRespond to cost inquiries and produce ad hoc financial reportsSupport project financial closeout and final account settlementWhat We're Looking ForDegree or diploma in quantity surveying, commerce, accounting, engineering or construction management5+ years' cost control experience on construction, infrastructure, resources or energy projectsAt least one project of $100m+ in scopeBudget management, cost code and forecasting expertiseAdvanced spreadsheet and data-analysis capabilityExperience with named enterprise cost or ERP platforms2+ years' average tenure per employer with at least one cost control role held for 2+ yearsAbility to explain financial information clearly to non-financial delivery staffStrong accuracy and process disciplineGood communication and collaboration skills
