The department sits within the Chief Financial Officer directorate, along with Financial Services, Financial Accounting, Business Intelligence Unit, Enterprise Risk and Health Information Services.About the roleAustin Health is seeking a commercially minded Procurement Specialist to deliver strategic and tactical procurement activities across a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical expenditure categories.
Reporting to the Deputy Director Procurement and Supply, you'll work closely with business leaders, stakeholders and suppliers to deliver value, savings, innovation and sustainable outcomes that support patient care.Develop and run end-to-end tenders and procurement activitiesDevelop and implement procurement category strategiesAnalyse spend, cost drivers and supply markets to identify commercial opportunitiesBuild strong supplier relationships and support supplier performance managementSupport contract negotiations and strategic contract lifecycle managementLead supplier performance discussions and contribute to supplier management initiativesDeliver procurement governance requirements,
including reporting, audits and policy and procedure updatesEnsure compliance with Health Share Victoria (HSV) and Victorian Government procurement requirementsPartner with stakeholders across one of Victoria's leading health servicesAbout youYou are a commercially minded procurement professional with:Experience in strategic procurement, sourcing or category managementStrong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skillsThe ability to analyse procurement spend, cost drivers and supply markets to identify opportunitiesGood MS Excel, data analysis and systems skillsExperience managing tenders, supplier relationships and contractsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information succinctlyStrong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesThe ability to influence stakeholders and build strong working relationships across a complex organisationA proactive, collaborative and innovative approach to problem solvingExperience in end-to-end procurement category management, supplier relationship management or supplier performance managementExperience developing and delivering category strategiesHealthcare or public sector procurement experienceKnowledge of VGPB and HSV procurement frameworksTertiary or postgraduate qualification in Business, Law, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related disciplineExperience reviewing,
