About the roleIn this role you will be responsible for carrying out the lifestyle programs and care services for residents in our Aged Care Facility.
This will include both leisure and recreation activities which are designed to enhance the psychological, social and psychical wellbeing of our residents.You will be a part of our Diversional Therapist team, who will report directly to the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator, as well as the General Manager.Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;Have obtained a Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or currently studying –desirable but not essentialHave previous experience in activities and lifestyle enrichmentDemonstrated understanding and implementation of the Aged Care Quality StandardsHold a current First Aid and CPR certificate - desirable but not essentialBe versatile to meet the demands as the position may involve morning, evening and weekend workHave effective networking skillsHave strong leadership,



communication and people management skillsAbility to operate independently and in a multidisciplinary teamYour duties and responsibilities will include the following;Understanding regulatory requirements within Aged CareMotivateresidents towards emotional and physical rehabilitation through recreational activitiesPlan, prepare and facilitate leisure and recreational activities to meet the needs of residentsRecognise and assist to overcome any barriers to participation from residentsFacilitate opportunities for residents' continued involvement in the wider communityLiaise with family/person responsible/carers and other members of the health care team to facilitate the achievement of the residents' leisure and recreational pursuitsPrepare for events, including decorating the facility, rooms, invitations, guest entertainers, cateringAssist residents to attend regular external bus outings or excursionsBring new ideas to the development of a broad range of activities and eventsOther aspects that would be favorably considered:Ability to play a musical instrument, craft or gardening skillsWhat we offer at Buckland:Salary Sacrifice options availableOn-going learning and development opportunitiesA great working environment with a supportive teamThis is the opportunity you have been waiting for.
