Experienced Surgical Medical Secretary – Part-TimeAn opportunity is available for an experienced Surgical Medical Secretary to join an established specialist surgical practice on the Central Coast.This is a permanent part-time position of approximately 8-10 hours per week, (can increase if busy) with flexibility around the days and hours worked.
It would particularly suit an experienced medical secretary looking for a small regular role, school-hours work, or additional hours alongside another position.
$38–$42 per hour + super, depending on experience.About the roleThe position involves providing administrative support for a single surgical practice, including:Coordinating surgical bookings and hospital admissionsLiaising with patients, hospitals, anaesthetists, GPs and other specialistsManaging patient correspondence, referrals and resultsMedicare and private billingPatient accounts and paymentsMaintaining accurate patient recordsGeneral practice administrationNew patient bookings and routine initial enquiries are largely managed separately by our remote administrative support,



allowing this position to focus primarily on the ongoing administration and surgical aspects of the practice.About youWe are looking for someone who:Has previous experience in specialist medical or surgical administrationIs highly organised, reliable and able to work independentlyHas excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly manner with patientsHas robust attention to detailIs comfortable liaising with hospitals and coordinating surgical bookingsHas experience with Medicare/private billing and medical correspondenceIs confident using Genie practice management softwareExperience with Genie practice management software is highly desirableWhat we offerApproximately 9–10 hours per week$38–$42 per hour + super, depending on experienceFlexible arrangement of working hoursPermanent part-time positionEstablished specialist surgical practiceFriendly, professional working environmentImmediate start available
