Leading Edge Childcare - Morayfield – Morayfield QLDPart-Time | Monday to Friday | Family-Owned CentreAn exciting opportunity has become available for a passionate and experienced Cook to join our team at our family-owned childcare centre in Morayfield.We are looking for someone who takes pride in creating nutritious, delicious meals for children and enjoys being part of a warm, supportive team.
This role is more than simply preparing meals.
Our Cook is an key part of our centre community, building relationships with our children, families and educators and helping create positive experiences around food and nutrition.Our family-owned centre is also supported by an external management team, providing additional professional support and guidance to help you succeed in your role.About the RoleAs our Centre Cook, you will be responsible for:Planning and preparing nutritious, high-quality menus for childrenEnsuring allergies, dietary requirements and individual needs are carefully accommodatedPreparing our daily complimentary parent breakfast, helping us provide a welcoming and convenient start to the day for our familiesSetting up, maintaining and ensuring our parent breakfast station is fully stocked and ready each morningMaintaining a clean, organised and compliant kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations and requirementsManaging kitchen budgets, stock, ordering and meal planningBuilding positive and collaborative relationships with educators,
children and familiesProviding weekly cooking experiences for children across different ages and stages of developmentWorking alongside families and educators to support individual dietary and nutritional needsContributing positively to the wider centre community and helping us create a warm, welcoming environment for our familiesAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:Previous experience working as a Cook, with experience in an Early Childhood setting highly regardedCookery qualifications and/or a Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtainA current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtainConfidence in developing nutritious and varied menusA strong understanding of food allergies, dietary requirements and safe food preparationExperience with budgeting, ordering and stock managementStrong organisation and time-management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA professional, reliable and positive attitudeThe ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a teamWhat We OfferWe believe our team should feel valued and appreciated.
