This is an entry-level opportunity to gain hands‐on experience working alongside industry professionals in the planning and delivery of some of Sydney's most iconic events, including Sydney Christmas and Sydney New Year's Eve.The internship runs from Monday 19 October **** until Friday 8 January ****, working up to Christmas Eve, and between 27 December and 1 January inclusive.
You won't work on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
The exact start date and work arrangements will be discussed and agreed as part of the selection process.This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in events, gain practical experience,
and work behind the scenes on some of Sydney's most high‐profile cultural celebrations.ResponsibilitiesSupport the Major Events and Festivals team with effective project and administrative support as directed.Assist with the set‐up, operation and pack‐down of production, operations and logistics requirements for identified events under direction of the relevant coordinators and/or managers.Assist with any required event administration tasks including preparing meeting minutes, agendas and action lists, and updating project critical path documentation.Support and assist with other programming, production, or business operations‐related duties as directed/required.The position will have the opportunity to work on event sites during the delivery of the events if required.Qualifications and experienceAn interest in major events and festivals within a local government setting.Ability to meet deadlines and to balance competing priorities.Demonstrated ability to be proactive, flexible and reliable.Good written and oral communication skills, combined with proven ability to maintain confidentiality.Able to work some evenings and weekends where required.Download position description.The recommended applicant must complete a pre‐employment health declaration form.What we can offer youFlexible working3 days of care and cultural leave each year for health and wellbeing activities, cultural and religious days or events of significanceCollaborative approach to flexible workingCity centre head office,
