About Pilbara ISOCo Limited
Pilbara ISOCo is the independent system operator for the North-West Interconnected System (NWIS), an electricity grid consisting of around 1,360 km of transmission lines across three interconnected networks, and serving mining, industrial, commercial and residential loads in Western Australia's Pilbara region.
Appointed under Western Australian legislation, Pilbara ISOCo plays a critical role in promoting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Pilbara electricity system while supporting the region's economic growth and energy transition.
As a not-for-profit organisation, Pilbara ISOCo works collaboratively with industry participants, government agencies and network operators to maintain power system security, coordinate network planning, administer regulatory frameworks, and enable greater integration of new energy technologies across the Pilbara.

About the Role
We will work with each successful graduate to create a structured development plan tailored to their interests and career goals, supported by regular mentoring, technical learning and opportunities to take increasing responsibility as their capability grows.
Although the positions are based in Perth, the successful graduates may occasionally travel to the Pilbara to visit facilities, engage with stakeholders and build a practical understanding of the electricity system and industries they support.




Pilbara ISOCo has a small, specialist team responsible for functions that require careful consideration of complex technical, operational, legal and economic factors.
As Graduate Electrical Engineers, you will work with experienced colleagues across the following activities.
Help manage, maintain and operate the system-wide PowerFactory model.
Support the development and implementation of network constraint rules.
Support post-incident investigations and reviews of power system disturbances.
Help develop operational procedures and guidance.
Support due diligence reviews of network access applications and related power system studies.
Assist the ISO Control Desk with pre- and post-contingency protocols.
Collect and publish registration and standing data.
Develop system maps and network diagrams.
Support energy balancing and settlement processes.
Assist with outage planning and coordination.
Maintain the network Visibility List.
Build project, stakeholder and risk management capability.
Work with internal and external stakeholders, including Network Service Providers, major industrial customers, network access seekers and government departments.
Strengthen your communication, analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills.
Help develop and implement operational improvements using AI and other digital automation tools.
About the Applicants
You do not need to know everything on day one.
We are looking for two curious, capable and motivated graduates who are ready to learn, contribute and grow.
Applicants should bring the following qualifications and attributes:
A tertiary qualification in electrical engineering recognised by Engineers Australia, ideally with a focus on power systems or electrical power.
Students within one or two semesters of completing their degree are also encouraged to apply.
Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence using Microsoft Office and enthusiasm for learning new engineering and digital tools.
A team-oriented approach and the ability to contribute positively within a multidisciplinary team.
Curiosity, initiative and the ability to manage changing priorities effectively.
