About the roleHome and Community Support Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Disability Support Worker to join our team in Toowoomba, Queensland.
This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in our mission to provide quality support and care to individuals with disabilities within our community.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be instrumental in enabling our clients to live as independently as possible whilst maintaining their dignity and promoting their wellbeing.
This role is essential to our service delivery and directly impacts the quality of life of the individuals we support.
Immediate shifts available:
Monday 12pm-6pm
Wednesday 12pm - 6pm
Friday 12pm-6pm
Key responsibilities
Provide care and support to clients with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities such as hygiene and meal preparation
Support clients in accessing community activities, social events and recreational opportunities to promote inclusion and engagement
Assist clients with mobility and transportation to appointments, activities and community venues
Help clients develop and maintain life skills that promote independence and self-determination
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the multidisciplinary support team to ensure continuity of care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client support activities and progress
Respond sensitively and promptly to clients' needs and concerns
Work collaboratively with the broader support team to implement individualised support plans
Contribute to a safe and inclusive environment by adhering to health,



safety and safeguarding protocols
What we're looking for
A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to person-centred care
Previous experience working in disability support, aged care, health services or similar care roles preferred.
A current Working with Children Check and a current valid driver's licence
Ability to demonstrate understanding of disability, mental health awareness and trauma-informed practice
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
Physical capability to assist clients with mobility and daily activities, or willingness to learn safe manual handling techniques
Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Flexibility to work varied shifts that may include evenings, weekends and public holidays
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting client privacy
Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development to maintain and enhance your skills
