About the role
Health First Group is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our energetic team in Cairns, Queensland Australia.
As a full-time Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality rehabilitation services to our diverse client base, as well as supervising and mentoring our more junior occupational therapists within our company.
The Occupational Therapist role is approximately 50% clinical, and 50% managerial, and is integral to the overall success of our occupational therapy branch of the business.
You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to improve the well-being and independence of our clients, as well as play an integral role in developing our junior OT's.
What you'll be doing
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs and develop individualised treatment plans
Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to support clients in achieving their goals
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to client care
Provide education and training to our junior occupational therapists in the company.
Provide supervision and mentorship to our OT's.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services
What we're looking for
University qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, and AHPRA.
Minimum 4 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably with prior experience in a supervisory/ managerial role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with fellow therapists, clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills as an OT.
Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous career development.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team-oriented team.
