Sydney Health & Care Services (SHCS) is seeking an experienced and qualified Diploma of Community Services Trainer & Assessor and First Aid Trainer & Assesor to support the delivery of accredited training programs for workers in the disability and community services sector.
This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is committed to high-quality training outcomes, compliance, and supporting learners to build practical, work-ready skills.
About the Role
The Trainer & Assessor will be responsible for delivering, assessing, and supporting students undertaking the Diploma of Community Services and First Aid.
All training and assessment activities must align with the Standards for RTOs, ASQA requirements, and organisational compliance policies.
As a newly established organisation preparing for our initial registration audit, trainers will also play a key role in supporting pre-audit readiness activities.
This may include reviewing training and assessment materials, participating in validation processes, and contributing to compliance preparation to ensure our systems and documentation meet regulatory standards.
All time spent assisting with pre-audit preparation, compliance activities, and participation in the audit process will be paid in accordance with agreed contractual arrangements.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering face-to-face and/or blended training sessions
Assessing student competency in line with training package requirements
Developing and maintaining assessment tools and training resources
Providing student support, feedback, and guidance
Maintaining accurate training,
assessment, and compliance records
Ensuring delivery aligns with current industry standards and best practice
Participating in validation, moderation, and continuous improvement activities
Essential Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must hold:
TAE***** Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
Diploma of Community Services or higher
Diploma of First Aid or higher
Current industry experience in disability, aged care, or community services
Sound knowledge of training package and competency-based assessment
Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Desirable Requirements:
Experience delivering training within an RTO environment
Familiarity with ASQA standards and audit requirements
Experience working with diverse learners
Ability to deliver both theory and practical components
Compliance & ScreeningSuccessful applicants will be required to hold or obtain:
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

National Police Check
