The Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Animal Services and
Community Safety, this position is responsible for the investigation and
enforcement of the various acts and regulations delegated to Council officers,
including, Environmental Enforcement, Public Land Use Enforcement, Parking /
Heavy Vehicle Enforcement and Animal Management.
Responding to complaints, such as unauthorised
goods on footpath, trucks in residential areas, illegal parking, illegal
dumping on public property, overgrown vegetation, barking dogs and nuisance
animals, stray and roaming animals, dog attacks and dangerous/menacing dog
compliance.

About You




You will have proven conflict resolution,
mediation, facilitation, and negotiation skills, and able to communicate
effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will have experience in
developing education campaigns in relation to Companion Animals, and ability to
provide professional and technical advice, guidance and assistance in
regulatory enforcement.
You will have proven ability to work as part of a team
and unsupervised, using initiative, managing competing interests, and
prioritised workload.
Essential Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Animal Management, Regulatory Services/Investigations, or other equivalent and relevant certificate to level IV competency,
First Aid Certificate,
Proven and extensive experience in Local Government Regulatory Services, Companion Animal Management, or extensive and relevant experience in a role within the Regulatory or Law Enforcement Sector,
Demonstrated knowledge of the Companion Animals Act, Protection of the Environment Operations Act, the Roads Act, the Public Spaces (unattended property) Act, the Australian Road Rules and associated Regulations,
Demonstrated skills and experience in companion animal investigations,



conducting interviews and preparing briefs of evidence for court.
Proficient using computers and computer software
The right to live and work in Australia
Class C Drivers Licence
WHS General Construction White Card in NSW
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
Desirable
NSW Microchip Implanter accreditation or willingness to obtain
