About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal (Water Networks Principal Engineer) – Scheme Performance
to join our Scheme Performance team in this
fixed-term opportunity until 30 September ****

Based in Leederville and working across Asset Strategy, Asset Investment Planning, Customer Experience and Operations, you will provide technical leadership in the monitoring, analysis and optimisation of water network performance across Western Australia.
Using operational data, engineering expertise and strategic insight, you will lead complex investigations, identify performance improvement opportunities, and develop evidence-based recommendations that inform asset investment and funding decisions.
This is a unique opportunity to influence network performance outcomes, shape long-term asset strategies, and build organisational capability through technical leadership, stakeholder engagement and mentoring.

What you can expect with this role
Lead the investigation, monitoring and analysis of scheme and network performance
Translate complex performance data into actionable operational and investment priorities
Develop evidence-based recommendations to support asset investment planning and funding decisions
Lead cross-functional projects that improve network performance and asset outcomes
Build organisational capability through technical leadership, mentoring and stakeholder engagement
What you'll bring
Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Extensive experience in water network operations, asset management and performance improvement
Strong capability in performance monitoring, analysis, reporting and optimisation
Experience translating operational performance information into business and investment decisions
Advanced analytical, problem-solving and water supply process investigation skills
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work across operational, technical and strategic functions
Experience working with large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences
Desirable
Knowledge of non-revenue water reduction, network optimisation and digital metering initiatives
Experience influencing asset investment planning and reporting on asset performance outcomes
