About the Role
The Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) provides high-quality person-centred nursing care for patients with life-threatening conditions and complex healthcare problems.
Work closely with a comprehensive multidisciplinary team to assess, manage, support and advocate for critically ill patients
Enjoy a diverse and challenging setting with a 4-bed unit that treats a wide range of cardiac, respiratory and other conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with GH policies, procedures and guidelines
Recognise changes in the patient's condition, inform team leaders where required and collaboratively implement strategies to improve patient outcomes
Ensure person centred care is provided according to individual patient assessment and needs
Promote evidence-based practice that has a problem-solving approach and is competency based
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
Postgraduate/Certificate qualifications in critical care or recent experience in Intensive Care Nursing and willing to undertake further education, training and competency assessment as required
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Commitment to personal and professional development and continuous quality improvement
Demonstrated ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity
Desirable:
Experience in attending MET calls
