The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Facility Care Attendant to join our team on a temporary basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone currently studying, or recently completing, their Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing who is eager to gain paid experience within the emergency veterinary industry.
In this role, you will play an important part in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth day to day running of our hospital.
Working alongside our supportive nursing and leadership teams, you will help create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming setting for both patients and staff.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being active, takes pride in keeping spaces organised and clean,



and is looking to build their confidence within a professional veterinary hospital environment.
Your Duties & Responsibilities:
Cleaning and maintaining hospital areas including floors, walls, cages, windows, and surfaces
Washing and preparing animal bedding, bowls, litter trays, and hospital equipment
Re stocking consumable items throughout the hospital
Assisting with animal husbandry tasks under direct supervision, including food, water, enrichment, and basic grooming
Ensuring patient areas are clean, organised, and ready for incoming patients
Supporting the wider hospital team with general upkeep and housekeeping duties
Following workplace health and safety procedures and hospital protocols
Checking in with supervisors regarding daily task allocation and priorities
Your Skills & Experience:
Minimum 18 years of age
Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
Currently studying or close to completing a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing is highly desirable
Previous animal handling or animal care experience is advantageous but not essential
Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
Ability to work well within a team and follow direction
Positive attitude and a genuine passion for animal care
Reliable, organised, and able to work in a busy environment

Additional Information:
Please note this is a temporary position with no guarantee of ongoing employment beyond the agreed dates.
However, it is an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful paid experience in the emergency veterinary field.
This role does not involve clinical veterinary nursing duties, animal restraint, transport of animals, or handling aggressive/reactive patients.
Full support, training, and task guidance will be provided throughout your employment.
