Use your financial counselling experience to help individuals and families find a way forward during some of life's most challenging moments.
At Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT), we support people experiencing financial hardship with practical advice, compassionate advocacy and a clear path towards greater financial independence.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Coordinator of Financial Counselling, you will provide free, confidential and trauma-informed support to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship including people affected by gambling-related financial issues.
Every client's circumstance will be different.
You might help someone understand their options, advocate on their behalf, develop a manageable budget or simply provide a calm and supportive presence when their situation feels overwhelming.
What you'll bring
A Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling), or equivalent
Accreditation with the Financial Counsellors' Association of NSW
A commitment to trauma-informed, client-centred practice
Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills
Preferably hold a Problem Gambling Skill Set qualification such as:
CHCSS***** Problem Gambling Skill Set
CHCGMB501A - Work Effectively in the Problem Gambling Sector
CHCGMB502A - Assess the Needs of Clients with Problem Gambling Issues
CHCGMB503A - Provide Counselling for Clients with Problem Gambling Issues
OR
CHCSS***** Problem Gambling Skill Set Elective
CHCGMB001 - Assess the Needs of Clients with Problem Gambling Issues
CHCGMB002 - Provide Counselling for Clients with Problem Gambling Issues
