Your time will typically be split between:
Site‐based work
(commissioning, maintenance and investigations); and
Office‐based work at our Ascot office

Office-Based Technical Work
Office-based work includes:
commissioning strategies are planned,
protection behaviour is analysed,

engineers and technicians work side‐by‐side.
This provides time to convert field findings into technical decisions, documented outcomes and repeatable work practices.
What You'll Be Involved In
Protection & Commissioning
Testing, commissioning and proving
protection schemes
HV, MV & LV
primary and secondary systems
Numerical protection relays and protection logic
Substation control systems, DC systems, CTs/VTs and interlocking
Interface testing with
SCADA and control systems
Supporting energisation, handover and acceptance
Maintenance & Asset Support
Routine and condition‐based
protection maintenance
Investigation of protection operations, alarms and failures
Fault analysis, root cause identification and corrective actions
Support for outage planning, return‐to‐service and asset upgrades
Helping clients understand
how and why assets behave over time
Across All Work
Working directly with operators, clients and stakeholders
Producing
clear, defensible technical reports

with sufficient time allowed for proper analysis and documentation
Applying standards, not shortcuts
Learning how networks actually behave — not just how they're designed
Role Suitability

What We're Looking For
Essential
Solid electrical foundation (trade or engineering)
Strong safety mindset and procedural discipline
Willingness to learn, investigate and take responsibility
Clear written and verbal communication skills
WA Driver's Licence
Right to work in Australia
Desirable
Electrical Workers Licence
Protection, commissioning or maintenance exposure
Omicron or similar test equipment
Utility‐scale or mining power system experience
SCADA or control systems exposure
